medicare supplement plans

Everything you need to know, from A to N.

Medicare is the federally sponsored health insurance plan for people who are 65 or older or who may qualify for other reasons.

Different parts of Medicare cover different things. For example, Part A is considered “hospital insurance” and covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facilities, and other similar costs. Medicare Part B covers things like doctor services, outpatient care, and other related items. But there are plenty of things that aren’t covered by either part of original Medicare.

Martin Insurance Group offers Medicare Supplement Plans to help pay for some of these costs, such as co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles. Also known as Medigap insurance, these supplement plans can be designed to cover certain things that original Medicare doesn’t — such as emergency foreign travel expenses.

Don’t get caught in the gaps.

You may be in relatively good health now and have saved enough to retire, but healthcare costs can escalate quickly and oftentimes Medicare is not enough. This is where Medicare Supplements come in.

Here are just a few smart reasons for having one or more Medigap plans (11 in total, but lettered from A to N) in place:

  • No medical underwriting for those switching from an employer’s health plan or turning 65 years old
  • Lower premiums and better coverage (vs. Group Plans)
  • Portable
  • Guaranteed to renew
  • Predictable rate increases
  • Claims paid based on Medicare Standards (vs. the usual insurance company cost-saving practices, such as pre-authorizations and referrals)

There are several Medicare Supplement Plans from which to choose with different premiums and coverage areas. Martin Insurance Group can help you navigate through the various options plan to choose what’s best for you. We’ll assist you in limiting your annual out-of-pocket medical costs and get the peace of mind you need to pay for some of the costs original Medicare doesn’t cover.
